James Jackson, DVM

 

Dr. James Jackson graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Georgia State University in 1966. A North Carolina native, Dr. Jackson started Quail Corners Animal Hospital in August of 1969 then followed in 1982 with the addition of Hidden Valley Animal Hospital. After many years of practicing, Dr. Jackson currently works Monday through Thursday. Outside of work Dr. Jackson enjoys spending his time on the beautiful coast of North Carolina with his wife and son. He currently resides in Raleigh, with his wife Sallie and their West Highland white terrier, Lucky. 

 

 

  

Kady Gjessing, DVM

 

Dr. Kady Gjessing first joined Quail Corners Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant. She continues working as an assistant while attending North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1994, Dr. Gjessing joined the Quail Corners team as an associate. In 2003, Dr. Gjessing became a Partner within the hospital. Dr. Gjessing is an active member of the Wake County SPCA and the Raleigh Racquet Club. In her down time you will most likely find her at the gym or on the tennis court. She resides in Raleigh with her two Beagles, Miss Moneypenny & Addie along with her cat menagerie.

  

 

Meredith Berry, DVM

 

Meredith Berry joined the staff of Quail Corners Animal Hospital in June 2005 after graduating from North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up on a farm near Elizabeth City, NC and moved to Raleigh to attend NC State, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 2001. While in college and vet school, she worked as a veterinary assistant at Hidden Valley Animal Hospital. Dr. Berry's special interests include preventative medicine and soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling and supporting her favorite sports team, the NC State Wolfpack. Dr. Berry also enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian, their mixed-breed dog (Mason), two cats (Tigger and Joey-Cat), and two saltwater fish.

 

 

 

Christa Riddle, DVM

 

Dr. Christa Riddle joined Quail Corners Animal Hospital in May 2004 as an emergency associate and has been working as a daytime and emergency associate since December 2005. She graduated from North Carolina State University in 1999 with a degree in microbiology and in 2003 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Riddle is a North Carolina native, having grown up in a small rural community in the foothills of Surry County. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the North Carolina Veterinary Response Corp. Dr. Riddle has a passion for emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, disaster preparedness, and infectious diseases. In 2007 she completed a one-year certification in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, making handmade cards, reading non-fiction and traveling. She and her husband share their home in Raleigh with their pets, Molly, the yellow lab, Millie, the chocolate lab, and Mr. Jeeves the cat.

 

Dr. Margaret Pepe

Dr. Pepe is a 1991 graduate of The Ohio State University of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband (also a veterinarian) moved to Raleigh over 10 years and love it here.  Their family consists of four cats and two yellow labs as well as Dr. Pepe's horse.  In her spare time, Dr. Pepe can be found at the horse barn or at home with the "kids". 

 

 

Dr. Everett Millikin

 

Everett Millkin worked as a Registered Veterinary Technician in intensive care and large animal medicine and surgery for 10 years prior to his graduation from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Immediately after graduation he worked at an emergency clinic in Raleigh for two years after which he became a relief veterinarian and worked throughout North Carolina. He joined Quail Corners in 1997 as one of the emergency doctors working every other weekend. In 2005 he began working weekdays in addition to his emergency shifts. His professional interests include emergency and critical care medicine. He is an avid NC State fan and member of the Wolfpack Club. His other interests include: photography, water skiing, shooting sports, classic cars, and restoring his 175 acre farm to a long leaf pine ecosystem.

 

 

  

Tom Pejsa, DVM

 

Dr. Tom Pejsa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine in 1988 and then received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1990 from University of Illinois. A Chicago native, Tom Pejsa has been practicing emergency medicine at Quail Corners Animal Hospital since 1994. In his free time he enjoys cooking, travel, hiking and fly-fishing. He lives with his wife, Marlene, Golden Retriever and two cats in Orange County.

 

  

 

Kari Obermeyer, DVM

 

Dr. Kari Obermeyer was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. She attended the University of Guelph for 2 years before being admitted to the Ontario Veterinary College. She graduated with her Doctor or Veterinary Medicine degree in 2006. Dr. Obermeyer always had an interest in emergency medicine so after graduating she completed a 1 year internship in emergency medicine and critical care here in Raleigh, NC. She joined the team at Quail Corners as an emergency clinician in June 2007. Outside of work she enjoys the company of her 3 dogs and 5 cats, all of which are rescues! She is a fitness enthusiast and can be found at the gym 6 days a week. She plans to start competing again in natural body building this summer. She enjoys horseback riding and even had three amateur boxing fights while in school. Her ultimate dream outside of work is to be a contestant on American Gladiators.

 

 

 

Aaren Dumont, DVM

 

Born in New Jersey, Dr. Aaren Dumont received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Bucknell University in 1999 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Dumont took some time off for travel and then worked briefly in a local veterinary clinic. Dr. Dumont joined Quail Corners Animal Hospital as a part time veterinarian in May 2007. Her interests include internal and geriatric medicine. Both she and her husband are originally from New Jersey but have been in Raleigh several years now and love it! They share their home in Raleigh with their two rescue dogs--Bishop & Jersey. Outside of work, Dr. Dumont enjoys traveling, cycling, cooking and interior design.

 

Rebecca Tudor, DVM, Diplomate, ACVS

Dr. Tudor is a Board Certified Surgeon that travels between multiple hospitals in the area.  She owns and operates Tarheel Mobile Veterinary Surgical Specialists.  She is a top notch surgeon and has an excellent ability with clients.  Dr. Tudor can be found performing sugery at Quail Corners at least once weekly.  She meets with clients and patients by appointment only, so if you wish to meet her please call in advance.
